An Invitation from the High Alpha of Zeta Zeta
Brothers,
As Lambda Chi Alpha celebrates its centennial anniversary, the members of Zeta Zeta share in honoring the prestigious history of our fraternity. The current undergraduates wish to further engage alumni in order to truly make Zeta Zeta a bond between its generations of brothers. One step towards that end is an increased quality of communication between actives and alumni. The Executive Committee is already well acquainted with the Housing Corporation officers, as we engage in a well-intentioned give and take on a consistent basis. But we also welcome back any brothers to the house, maybe just to take a reminiscent look around. There are several opportunities to do this in the near future, namely Blue-White weekend, Alumni Work Weekend, and down the road a little further, Homecoming 2009. We hope to see the familiar faces back at the house along with alumni we have yet to meet.
In Z.A.X.,
Mike Wray, High Alpha

| | NewsFinding Comfort in Our Community “In a cold world, you still need your friends to keep you warm.” (The Big Chill, 1983) As we say goodbye to Coach Paterno, Penn Staters everywhere can take comfort in friends and in the deep sense of community that we are so fortunate to enjoy as Penn State alumni. Looking back, Joe played a role in the best times of our lives – from tailgating to Bowl trips to games at Beaver Stadium. For many of us, they still continue to this day. Joe’s passing reminds us of what is most important in life: our lifelong connections to those who mean the most, including our Lambda Chi brothers. There are plenty of opportunities to celebrate being a part of the Penn State community with the friends you met there: THON – February 17-19. You can honor Joe’s wish (a fraternity guy himself) by making a donation to this great cause. Blue/White Weekend – April 20-22 Arts Fest – July 12-15 To share your plans to reunite in Happy Valley this spring, click here. To share your condolences or a personal JoePa story, click here. Honor Joe Pa and Help LXA With Your THON Donation! In 1973, a handful of Penn State Greeks paid $10 each to dance for 24 hours, without rest, in support of a cause called The Four Diamonds Fund, which raises money for pediatric cancer. They started what is known today as the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, or more commonly as THON. This event now lasts 46 hours, boasts over 700 dancers, 15,000 student volunteers, raised over $9.5 million last year alone, and has become the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. THON is an unbelievable event that helps families focus on the well being of their children rather than on the financial hardship that accompanies this terrible disease, and has also raised millions for cancer research.
